Haifa - The Capital of Northern Israel

Haifa is Israel's third largest city after Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Haifa is the capital of Northern Israel. Haifa is located on Mount Carmel and on the foothills that swoop down to the beaches of the Mediterranean Sea. Haifa is located in a bay that also has one of Israel's main ports. The bay that starts in Haifa contiues North untill the city of Acre.

Haifa is home to Jews and Arabs alike. There are Jews, Christians and Moslems living in Haifa and the city is refered to as a mixed city. Haifa is also home to the Bahai Temple and is the center of the Bahai Faith. Haifa has many great restaraunts and night clubs. The hotels situated on the Carmel offer spectacular views of the Mediterranean and offer a fresh sea breeze. North of Haifa along the coast beyond Acre and Nahariya lies Rosh Hanikra on the Israel - Lebanon border.
